2007 New Product Release in Canada: ThermaCELL® Introduces the 98% Effective Mosquito Repellent Lantern

Bedford, MA (February 2007) — The Schawbel Corporation, the creator of the innovative, patented ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellent, is introducing the ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellent Camping Lantern in Canada for spring 2007. The ThermaCELL Camping Lantern is up to 98% effective in warding off mosquitoes, black flies and no see-ums in tests conducted by the U.S. Department of Defense. Each Lantern comes with one butane cartridge, three repellent mats, and retails for the suggested price of $39.99* at retailers such as Wal-Mart and select Canadian Tire stores.

The ThermaCELL Lantern provides 4.5 meters of protection using patented technology to disperse allethrin, an insect repellent that is a synthetic copy of a natural insecticide found in chrysanthemum flowers and is an alternative to DEET. The Lantern is silent and odor-free, has no messy wax and turns off automatically if accidentally tipped over. It operates on a single butane cartridge, which heats the repellent mat. Each mat contains enough repellent for four hours of protection and each butane cartridge will operate the unit for 12 hours. ThermaCELL Refill Kits providing an additional 12 hours of mosquito protection are available separately.
